HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT “CHILDREN’S DISEASES”
The Children’s Diseases department has an old story. It was founded in 1920 by the A.N. Ustinov heading it do1922 years. From 1922 to 1924 chair Vasily Ivanovich Lysenko (1885-1946) – the doctor of medical sciences, professor directed. It graduated from medical faculty of the Kharkov university, is the author of 40 scientific works on questions of rational feeding of children in the conditions of hot climate. In 1936 Lysenko V. I. I organized chair of baby food, in 1945 – department of propaedeutics of children’s diseases of pediatric faculty. In 1927-1930 chair Nikolay Ivanovich Osinovsky – the doctor of medical sciences, professor managed. Osinovsky N. I. in 1919 graduated from Army medical college. I defended the doctoral dissertation in 1922. Its main works are devoted to clinic, diagnostics of a scurvy, scarlet fever, meningitis, digestive tract diseases.
From 1930 to 1960 the chair was headed by Raphail Samuilovich Gershenovich (1889 – 1960) the doctor of medical sciences, professor, the honored worker of science, the member correspondent. Berlin and Parisian societies of pediatricians. Gershenovich R. S. in 1907 graduated from medical faculty of the Parisian university. I defended the doctoral dissertation in 1935, is the author of 150 scientific works on diagnostics and treatment of diseases of digestive organs, a pellagra, children’s tuberculosis, a leyshmaniosis, blood diseases. These years I.F. Fazylov, M. A. Mirzamukhamedov worked at chair. The scientific direction of chair of those years it was devoted to gastrointestinal pathology in children. In 1935 in connection with sharp increase in number of students there was a need for creation of chair of children’s diseases separately for sanitary and hygienic and medical faculties.
Konstantin Gerasimovich Titov (1898 — 1970) — the doctor of medical sciences, professor, the honored worker of science managed this chair from 1935 to 1966. In 1936 the academic degree of the doctor of medical sciences is appropriated to it. He is the author of 65 scientific works devoted to pulmonary diseases and blood in children. During this period V.P. Eletskaya, I.F. Fazylov, S.Yu. Shayusupova, T.K. Kadyrova worked at department. Children had a scientific direction of chair poyavyashcheno to studying of physiology, histology and pathology of marrowy and reticulyendotelialy system.In 1966 – 1967 and 1975 – 1990 the chair was headed by Mannaf Atamatovich Mirzamukhamedov (1920 – 2002) – the doctor of medical sciences, professor, the honored doctor of Uzbekistan.
Mirzamukhamedov M. A. in 1943 TCMI ended. I defended the master’s thesis in 1949, doctor’s – in 1975, are the author more than 150 scientific works devoted to diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the digestive system. I prepared 3 doctors and 12 candidates of science. In 1955 – 1966 I worked at a position of the rector of the Samarkand medical institute. In 1967 – 1975 – the director of scientific research institute of Pediatrics. In 1977 – 1980 – the dean of the II medical faculty TCMI, in 1980 – 1982 – the dean of preparatory office. It was awarded by awards and medals of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 1968 – 1972 the chair was headed by Orkhon Sirozhiddinovich Makhmudovmanaged (1927-2012) the doctor of medical sciences, professor, the honored worker of science of Uzbekistan, the winner of an award of A.R. Beruni. Makhmudov О.С.в ended 1943 TCMI. I defended the master’s thesis in 1960, doctor’s – in 1966. Are the author more than 350 scientific works on actual problems of children’s infectious pathology and pediatrics. In 1966 – 1968 I worked as the dean of sanitary and hygienic faculty, in 1968 – 1972 – the vice rector for scientific work TCMI. In 1972 – 1976 – the vice rector for scientific work of TPMI. In 1976 – 1983 – the director of scientific research institute of pediatrics. In 1983 – 1984 the deputy minister of health care of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 1984 – 1990 – the rector of TCMI. In 1990 – 1998 I worked as the director of scientific research institute of Pediatrics. I prepared more than 10 doctors and 50 candidates of medical sciences. Makhmudov O. S. for the merits was awarded by awards and medals. I.F. Fazylov, V.P. Eletskaya, I.A. Islambekova, S.Yu. Shayusupova, T.K worked at department during this period. Kadyrova, Z.K. Fayziyev, D. N. Hudoyarov. In 1972 – 1975 duties of the head of the department were executed by associate professor Ieletscaia Valentina Pavlovna. In the same time on the basis of children’s office of clinic of TCMI the department “Children’s diseases” of sanitary and hygienic and stomatologic faculties run by professor M.R. Nuritdinov was newly organized.
Mayiddin Rasulovich Nuritdinov (1927 – 1996) – the doctor of medical sciences, professor, the honored doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It in 1952 ended TCMI. I defended the master’s thesis in 1956, doctor’s — in 1972. Are the author more than 100 scientific works devoted to problems of children’s hematology and rheumatology. In 1972 – 1996 I worked as the head of the department of Children’s diseases of sanitary hygienic and stomatologic faculties, in 1971 – 1972 – the dean of pediatric faculty TCMI, in 1972 – 1976 – the dean of preparatory office, in 1976 – 1978 – the dean of faculty of professional development of teachers. In 1978 – 1980 – the dean of internship and work practice. I prepared 1 doctor and 4 candidates of science. During this period worked at chair: D. N. Hudoyarova, M. N. Akhundi, Z.K. Fayziyev, I.M. Isamukhamedov, G. N. Shoislamova, Sh. Sh. Abdusagatova, U.F. Amirova, A.A. Zakhidova, O. Sh. Akramova, R.R. Mirdzhurayeva, T.I. Davydov, F.H. Abyzgildin, I.N. Nizametdinov, M. H. Alimova, D. R. Kurbanova, D. R. Salimova. After TCMI’s division into the First and the Second TCMI the department headed by professor M. A. Mirzamukhamedov passed into again organized institute, and the chair headed by professor M.R. Nuritdinov becomes chair of medical and stomatologic faculty of the First TCMI. From 1996 to 2008 chair Ilkhom Nizamovich Nizametdinov (1949 – 2011gg managed.) – doctor of medical sciences, professor. Nizametdinov I.N. in 1972 I ended MAMI. I defended the master’s thesis in 1980, doctor’s – in 1992. Author more than 200 scientific works. I prepared 2 doctors and 7 candidates of science. During its management in department traditions of scientific practical work and training fully remain. At this time the staff of department were: doctor of medical sciences, associate professor Sharapova M. H., associate professors: D.R.Kurbanova, E.A. Hudaykulov, M. H. Alimova, senior lecturer, edging. medical sciences of Z.K. Fayziyev, assistants: A.A. Zakhidova, O. Sh. Akramov, R. R. Mirdzhurayev, T.I. Davydov, F.H. Abyzgildin, D. R. Salimov. During the guide of professor Nizametdinov I.N. about 200 scientific articles were published in collections and magazines, 6 author’s inventions are received, 3 monographs, 56 methodical grants are published, 2 doctor’s and 7 master’s theses are executed, about 50 scientific conferences are held, 14 clinical interns are trained. The chair established scientific connection with the Dutch medical center, department of polyclinic pediatrics with a course of children’s immunology and allergology of the Kazakhstan state medical university. In September, 1999 in the I TCMI the department of Children’s diseases for 6-7 courses was in parallel organized. The doctor of medical sciences, professor Akhmedova Diloram Ilkhamovna directed chair (1956). In 1980 I ended MAMI (nowadays TPMI). I defended the master’s thesis in 1989, doctor’s in 1997. Are the author more than 100 scientific works on questions of diagnostics and treatment of a haemolytic illness of newborn, medical emergencies in children. Member of the State commission on coordination and implementation of the Healthy Generation program. I prepared 2 doctors and more than 10 candidates of medical sciences. During this period worked at chair: prof. Inoyatov F.I., associate professor Arifova G. A., assmstenta: Halmatova B. T., Abdazimova U.T., Ishniyazova N., Shadmanov F.D., Abdullaeva D. T. In 2005 in connection with formation of the Tashkent medical academy the department of Children’s diseases for 6-7 courses was merged into department of Children’s diseases for 4-5 courses and began to be called as chair “Children’s diseases, a neonatology and medical genetics”. Professor Nizametdinov Ilham Nizamovich headed department (till 2008). During this period worked at in department PhD Khalmatova B. T., PhD Sharapova M H., PhD Rakhmanova L.K., dosent. Kurbanova D. R., Hudaykulov E.A., lecturers: Fayziyeva Z.K., Shadmanova F.D., assistants: Mirrakhimova M. H., Salimova D. R., Mukhamedov P. I., Abdazimova U.T., Mekenbayeva R. From 2008 to 2012 the department was headed by the academician of AC of RoUz Daminov Turgunpulat Abidovich (1941 y.). During of this period in department was called “Infectious diseases and pediatrics”.
T.A. Daminov is an author more than 350 scientific works, 4 textbooks, 12 monographs, under his edition 5 scientific collections are published. Under its management 19 doctor’s and 40 master’s theses are defended. He is the head of the big scientific program in Republican committee of science and equipment.

In 2012, the department was named “Children’s Diseases” and until 2023, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Kholmatova Barno Turdikhodayevna.
